Sugandha Munshi

Sugandha Munshi works as a social activist for the womenissuesprofessing gender equity in the society through education reforms,reform in agriculture and youth leadership. Holding Political Science Degree, Journalism and Gender Study from University of Delhi she has completed her International Leadership Program from WYSE London UK. Working intensively on women and girl child issues she has led several campaign against female foeticide, worked on youth leadership and incepted women leadership programs in the state of Bihar .Awarded at various state and national forums, she has voiced her ideologies for girl child and women development in the state of Bihar actively with the government and department of education. She has also led publication "Asha ki Udaan "celebrating the women and girls sitting on the last periphery of Bihar on the centenary year. Moving on now she is intensively working for women farmers in Bihar, where she has conceptualized the women farmers identity as Kisan Sakhi (A woman farmer) working as Gender Specialist in the state. It is seeing a huge impact in developing women farmers' confidence, leadership and social identity. Having trust on the power of youth as a change maker she has been founder of social initiative forum Priyadarshini in Bihar which work at the grass root level in the state with youth .She has also a face for her work at international forum from India where she has represented India in United Nation. Recently for her persistent effort and impact she been elected as the Global Shaper of India for the state of Bihar, an initiative by World Economic Forum.
